At CARES, we believe in providing the best care for all animals, which means ensuring they are vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and treated for any medical issues they may have upon arrival. Since we don’t have a veterinarian on staff, we collaborate with local vets to provide the necessary care. Unfortunately, veterinary costs have risen significantly, which can put a strain on our resources.

For example, spaying a cat costs around $55, while spaying a dog can be upwards of $220. More serious medical issues can be quite costly as well; treating a broken leg might run up to $3,000, and surgery for a broken pelvis from a car accident could reach $5,000! As you can see, these expenses can add up quickly and at times do run even more!
